Snow Day

Well, all week people around (other cities) have been getting snow days. I was beginning to think that I was going to get ripped off and not get mine. So, today was my regularly scheduled day off..and we get...wait for it....A SNOW DAY! I'm not complaining, in fact I'm ecstatic! I was able to cook breakfast for the family while the wife built a fire in the fireplace! It has been an awesome day so far.
So as it has been cold all week I decided that I needed to take a few photos.
Now in Texas we don't get enough snow to do much of anything with. No sleds, giant snowmen, awesome snowball fights, etc but it was still pretty neat to look out at our street and see a fresh coat of white powder...untouched, if only for a bit by tire tracks, foot prints, etc. I was able to venture out and take a handful of pictures before getting really cold, wussing out and headed back in to warm me bum by the fire.
We had planned on heading to Ft. Worth to see my Dad, but as the weather got bad our plans have changed. Once again, I'm completely okay with that. But here's my wish...snow some more tonight, snow us in all weekend! I wanna spend the whole weekend inside...watching movies, eating, looking at the fire and going nowhere fast or even at all....Now part of me would like to jump on the 4 wheeler and tear up the snow..an idea that would fade faster then Jen Anistons latest hair-do as soon as the frigid air hit my rugged yet sensitive baby face.
Seeing how this is Texas, it's probably a dream that won't happen. It will be in the 60's again before Sunday..and understand 60 works well for me...cuz I definately ain't ready for the 110 degree summer Texas heat that will be here again before I can blink.
Either way I am taking it for what it's worth and going to enjoy it.
Have a good Super Bowl weekend. I will be watching but really don't care who wins. But I guess I will root for the Steelers and Big Ben...for no other reason than "just 'cuz"...Be safe all and don't forget TEXANS can't drive on ice/snow and if you think you're a TEXAN that can..you could not be more wrong!!!
